Amor Van Greunen

Amor joined the group in January of 2024 to complete their Master's degree. They completed their BSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at Stellenbosch University, which they followed up with an Honours degree in Plant Biotechnology. Amor's project focuses on the homoterpenes DMNT and TMTT. The goal of this research is to functionally characterise the biosynthesis of these homoterpenes in grapevine and to elucidate their role as a signalling molecule with reference to plant defence. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, reading, rock climbing and spending time with friends.
