Nompumelelo is an international student from the Kingdom of Eswatini, who joined the group in August of 2022 and is undertaking a PhD in Wine Biotechnology. Her project focuses on the molecular aspects of biostimulant-based stress priming in grapevine. She holds an MSc degree in Plant Pathology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, following her undergraduate BSc and Honours degrees in Microbiology and Plant Pathology, respectively. Alongside her academic pursuits, she balances the responsibilities of being a mother of two. Nompumelelo eagerly anticipates returning home as a proud PhD holder and continuing to excel both in her career in the agrisciences and as a dedicated mother.
